Description

Whether you are interested in starting a podcast or want to incorporate video into your reporting, you need to know how to record clean sound. Join instructor Pedro Rosado, as he takes us through the basics of audio recording and gives us tips and tricks for getting great sound.

Doors open at 6:00pm, training starts at 6:30pm.

This class is open to NewsGuild of New York members only.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Pedro Rafael Rosado is the co-founder of HeadStepper Media, a digital production company that specializes in the creation of award-winning audio and video content for Web and mobile platforms with a focus on providing services for small news outlets and minority owned businesses. Most recently, Pedro was an audio producer at The New York Times tasked with making the long-running podcasts "Book Review" and "Popcast"and was also part of the team that produces the mega-hit "The Daily".

Prior to working for The Times, Pedro was a music producer and recording engineer for various organizations including Tommy Boy Records, Sesame Workshop and his own White Heron Records.

In previous incarnations at the "Gray Lady" Pedro was the Operations Manager for NYT Video, Technical Director for NYT Video, Editor and Senior Producer for New York Times Radio and a News Technology Editor.
